Lenore has devoted over 38 years to teaching ASL at various colleges, universities, and deaf schools. She is an ASL proficiency evaluator/rater and has held the presidencies of FASLTA and Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf Alumni Association. Currently, Lenore is a full-time ASL Specialist at FSDB and an Adjunct Professor at Flagler College. She holds two master’s degrees in social work and Educational Leadership.

Meet Nelly, who hails from a second-generation Deaf family and was brought up in Buffalo, New York. Nelly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in Deaf Education, and has taught students ranging from ECE to college levels. Her greatest joy as a teacher comes from witnessing her students' growth and learning. When not in the classroom, Nelly enjoys practicing yoga, hiking in the woods (especially among redwoods), reading, and seeking out new adventures.

I defended my Sign Language Linguistics thesis in December 2022 at the University of Paris 8. Currently, I'm a postdoctoral researcher at EHESS in Paris and a proud father of two girls. My career includes teaching LSF in France and abroad, and I'm fluent in five languages, including four sign languages. I enjoy traveling, meeting new friends, exploring gastronomies, and watching movies.

Gavin, a native BSL user from a Deaf family, brings over two decades of BSL training experience to our team. He played a pivotal role in shaping key BSL curricula in Higher Education and contributed to multinational sign language projects. Gavin is fluent in British, Finnish, and American Sign Languages, with proficiency in Estonian, Swedish, and various European sign languages. His qualifications include a BA Hons Degree in Deaf Studies, NVQ6 in BSL, PG Cert in Teaching, Sociolinguistics, PTTLS, CTLLS, and ongoing RSLT training. As a certified A1 assessor of sign language interpreters, Gavin has provided assessment and training to interpreters at universities and organizations. He's facilitated continuing professional development for interpreters, focusing on the visual nature of sign language in international contexts. Gavin's dynamic presence extends beyond the classroom – he's also a stand-up comedian, bringing his humor and warmth to audiences across Europe.

Amy comes from a deaf family making her third-generation, growing up on BSL. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Performance in BSL/English from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is an open-minded individual with a lot of curiosity keeping her engaged in learning new skills, adapting to changes, and staying up-to-date with advancements. She has 2 years of experience in teaching BSL, growing from learning from her grandfather who still teaches BSL regularly. She is ecstatic to join the team to teach BSL, and welcomes the challenge with open arms!

Mayra is the Director of Camp Sol of the Deaf, Inc since 2016, a camp dedicated to empowering Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth of color. As an ASL teacher at Barnstable Academy HS for students with disabilities, she fosters language acquisition and development. Born Deaf in 1964 to Cuban refugees, Mayra's journey was filled with challenges. Her passion for Deaf language and culture was ignited at the National Technical Institute of the Deaf, and she later graduated from Gallaudet University with a degree in Psychology in 1997. With over 25 years of experience, Mayra has worked with various non-profit agencies, offering human services, mental health support, and case management to Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients. Through her work and leadership, she strives to be a role model and advocate within the Deaf community.

Native Chicagoan and professional chef, I graduated from Newbury Culinary Art in Brookline, Mass. I've been teaching sign language for over 12 years, both in class and as a tutor. Apart from my passion for sign language, I love to travel and collect arts. I also enjoy working out and, of course, cooking gourmet food. From time to time, I teach cooking classes in sign language. Currently, I reside in NYC.

Vicci, who has been deaf since birth and is a native New Yorker, strongly believes in the power of communication, the need for communication between two worlds, and the importance of bridging those worlds. Vicci's mother worked as an interpreter for thirty years, which inspired her own desire to contribute to the community. Empowering others by providing a valuable and essential service holds great significance for Vicci. This drive motivates her to push herself and those around her to achieve excellence. Vicci graduated from NTID/RIT with a degree in Interior Design. Following her graduation, she spent almost eight years working in the Hospitality industry as a project designer. During her free time, Vicci enjoys brewing vegan specialty coffees and cooking. She is also a volunteer at the North Carolina Museum of Arts for ASL Tours.

My name is Christina, but everyone calls me "Tina." I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I grew up in a mainstream school and later attended the National Technical Institute For The Deaf. Since 1995, I have been working at Lexington School for the Deaf as an Instructional Assistant, where I've found great fulfillment in supporting students' educational journeys. Here are some fun facts about me: I absolutely adore playing beach volleyball and various games. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy dining out and spending time at the beach and the lake, as I have an affinity for the sun and water. Gardening is one of my passions, and I take great pleasure in nurturing and tending to plants. Furthermore, I cherish my role as "Nana" to my two deaf grandchildren, and they hold a special place in my heart.

Born deaf and fluent in ASL and English. From Irving, Texas, now in Frederick, Maryland. ASL teacher for 3rd-5th graders. Holds a BA in Deaf Studies and MA in Deaf Education. Roxanna is a deaf woman born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx. She is a mother of three and a grandmother. In 1991, Roxanna was the runner-up in the Miss NY Deaf pageant and was a former RIT student who studied Applied Arts and Graphic Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Roxanna worked as a teacher assistant for deaf children for 20 years and was the drama club director for 13 years at St. Joseph’s School for the Deaf in the Bronx. She worked at the Sign Language Company teaching ASL. She currently works as an ASL instructor with hearing students. She enjoys watching sports and photography. One of Roxanna's dreams is to travel the world in a couple of years.

Maureen has 32 years experience teaching Deaf children. She is a graduate of Gallaudet University and earned a Master’s degree in Deaf Education from New York University. Maureen also has many years experience teaching American Sign Language to adult students at New York University. She is passionate about helping others become proficient in ASL.

Gina is a freelance art director, currently working with C.J. Jones for SignWorld Studios, as well as a social media marketing manager and UX / UI designer. She has worked in advertising, digital marketing, and print for over twenty years.  She is also an ASL Instructor for another signing company, creating meaningful, accessible, and entertaining sign language programming. She was born and raised in the NYC area. She lost her hearing due to a high fever when she was two years old. Now, she is profoundly deaf. She went to primarily hearing schools until she went to college at RIT / NTID, which is where she learned ASL. She enjoys running, hiking, going to the beach, and seeing her friends and family, especially her niece and nephew, who live close by to her in Brooklyn.

I'm thrilled to be a part of Sign Language Hub and to teach American Sign Language (ASL) classes this year. I'm anticipating an exciting and educational experience filled with new adventures in language learning. I can't wait to meet you all. I've been Deaf since birth and grew up in Texas, attending the Texas School for the Deaf. After my graduation, I pursued a degree at Gallaudet University, specializing in ASL, and successfully graduated in 2000. For over 20 years, I've been involved in various roles within Deaf communities, including ASL specialist, tutoring, workshops, and teaching ASL to students of all ages – from infants to adults, including Curriculum Enhancement classes. Working with students and families is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling for me. Family is important to me; I have a deaf twin sister, two children (one hearing and one deaf), and a delightful 3-year-old grandson. My household includes two Border Collie dogs and a few cats. I'm an outdoor enthusiast, often spending my free time horseback riding, traveling, hiking, camping, and exploring new places.

I have taught American Sign Language at New York University for 22 years. I also have tutored on-on-one with students and taught autistic children and pre-schoolers in a private school in Connecticut. I started my professional career as an actress with the National Theatre of the Deaf and traveled around the world and throughout the United States performing both classic and original plays for hearing and deaf audiences for seven years. I obtained my MA degree in Deafness Rehabilitation from NYU in 1993. I enjoy painting and drawing as well as traveling and cooking. My recent, and some earliers artworks I created, are featured on my website "fingerartstudio.com." I enjoy teaching sign language with "new and blank canvas" students.

Jenny J5 grew up Deaf in San Diego, California. Even though her mother was a GODA (Grandchild of Deaf Adults and knew signs), her mother following the ‘expert’s advice’ didn’t teach her signs. When J5 was almost 19, she registered at the local community college and saw a large group of people signing. She then jumped into the Deaf world feet first. She married her Gallaudet sweetheart and they have 5 Codas and 11 Godas. She is an advocate and successfully brought LEADK (https://www.lead-k.org/0) to Virginia to monitor Language Acquisition for Deaf kids ages birth to 5. She’s also a Deaf interpreter and artist of mixed media and lives in Culpeper County Virginia.

Hi there! I’m Kristen, I have a toilet trained cat, and a wonderfully loyal dog who knows sign language. Got your attention there, didn’t I? I’m also one of the sign language hub teachers, a deaf interpreter, and deaf advocate in the Washington DC area. I was fortunate to have a deaf family and fully integrated signing environment growing up, which makes me a native & Fluent asl user. A native of Harlem, New York and a member of a Deaf family, I am extremely proud and happy to announce I have been appointed a teacher at the Sign Language Hub. With more than 30 years of experience teaching ASL, I am one of only a handful of Deaf Interpreters and Hearing Interpreters in the world In addition to teaching ASL for 10 years, I have extensively trained other teachers. The Sign Language HUB is delighted to announce that ownership has been extended and recruited to senior teachers. Among its teachers, ASL has a rich history of cultural diversity.
